Leadership Council

The ReflectUS Dallas Program operates and is administered through a Council-Manager relationship.

Dallas County is represented by the members serving on the Dallas County Leadership Council (LC) and ReflectUS is represented by the Dallas County Site Manager.

LC members are residents of Dallas County who wish to increase the number of women in appointed and elected leadership roles in their community. All of the council members are volunteers and represent various different organizations and communities that serve diverse groups within the County.

The role of the Leadership Council is to provide guidance, advice, and insight into the community’s needs in order to reach equal representation in government. The role of the Program Manager is to take the Leadership Council ideas to create ReflectUS programs for the Dallas County Community. The LC Member role is a volunteer position and there are no term requirements or limits.

The Council Members perform a variety of tasks for ReflectUS such as,

  • Brainstorming programs and developing resources to help women in their political journey,
  • Recruit other individuals to serve as LC members,
  • Assist with advertising ReflectUS programs and resources,
  • Propose organizations and individuals to partner and collaborate with, and
  • Work closely with the Program Manager to reach goals and objectives as set by grant obligations and ReflectUS strategic plans.

Council meetings are scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM CST.
