Press Release: Announcing the ReflectUS "It Begins Here" Fellows Selection

ANNOUNCING THE REFLECTUS “IT BEGINS HERE” FELLOWS

12 outstanding women across the state of Texas

NEW YORK (April 5, 2021) — ReflectUS, the national, nonpartisan coalition of the nine leading women’s representation organizations working together to increase the number of women elected to office, announced today the selection of 12 outstanding women leaders as part of the inaugural “It Begins Here” Fellowship program.

“The ReflectUS ‘It Begins Here’ Fellowship program supports highly dedicated and devoted women seeking to make a difference in shaping our democracy,” said ReflectUS CEO Tiffany Gardner. “The fellows are dynamic women that are already leaders in their communities. They inspire us with their courage and deep commitment to follow their hearts and make a difference in our country through elected office.”

The ReflectUS “It Begins Here” Fellowship Program provides fellows the opportunity to work with the leading women’s representation organizations for an intensive 12-month program. During the program, fellows will be trained by members of the ReflectUS Coalition to further develop their political leadership and devise strategies towards success in running for office.

From an outstanding pool of applicants, 12 women were selected as the inaugural “It Begins Here” fellows based on their commitment to their community, their demonstrated leadership and their desire to serve through elected office.

A full list of the 2021 “It Begins Here” fellows is available on the ReflectUS website at https://reflect.us/fellowship.

In light of travel restrictions due to COVID-19, the fellows will begin their work remotely, transitioning to in-person once conditions improve. For more information about the ReflectUS “It Begins Here” Fellowship, visit the Fellowship Program’s website.
