REFLECTUS COALITION PRESENTS “A CONVERSATION ON WOMEN’S POLITICAL LEADERSHIP” SPONSORED BY COMCAST NBCUNIVERSAL

To celebrate the record number of women serving in the 117th Congress.

NEW YORK — ReflectUS, a national, nonpartisan coalition of the nine leading women’s representation organizations working together to increase the number of women elected to office, announced today that the Coalition would host “A Conversation on Women’s Political Leader” sponsored by Comcast NBCUniversal on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 6:00 pm ET.

“In this past election cycle, the ReflectUS Coalition members were at the forefront of helping women run and get elected to political offices across the country. We were an unseen force behind a lot of shattered glass ceilings,” said Tiffany Gardner, ReflectUS CEO. “We wanted to host this event to  celebrate these women serving in Congress and discuss ways we can ensure even more become involved in political leadership.”

“It’s an exciting time to see the record number of women who will be serving their communities across the United States,” said Larissa Martinez, Co-Founder and President of Women’s Public Leadership Network (WPLN). Having an accessible and approachable option for women of various ideologies to seek political leadership is paramount, especially for the next generation. Reaching and exceeding these milestones is critical to the work that the Coalition is doing to move toward a more representative democracy.”

The ReflectUS Coalition’s ‘Conversation on Women’s Political Leadership’ will host a panel of current and former members from the United States Congress from across the country to discuss the significant strides women have made in recent years, as well as the steps needed to continue this momentum. The panel, moderated by NBC Washington journalist Eun Yang, will consist of Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, former Congresswoman Barbara Comstock, former Congresswoman Mimi Walters, and former U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln.

Participants may register and access the live webcast through the ReflectUS website. An archived recording will be available to attendees following the event.
